The Gambia is well known as an ALL YEAR ROUND sport fishing destination.  The main tourist season is from October through to the end of April.  Then from May until September the holiday resorts run their summertime programs.  Fondly termed as 'the green season', this time of year offers a lush tropical environment with warm ocean currents moving inshore to the river estuary and coastline providing some excellent sport fishing.  Tarpon, Barracuda, Jacks, Cassava, Snapper, large Rays, Sharks, and Threadfins can all be targeted during the summer months using a variety of fishing techniques & methods such as spinning, lure, fly, & live-baits.
